DOWNTOWN — The Lindblom Park Ravens will face the Fosco Park Charges at the Chicago Park District’s 71st Annual Mum Bowl Friday at Soldier Field, 1410 Museum Campus Dr.

The two teams are the last left standing after defeating Willye White Park and Ogden Park, respectively, during last week’s semi-finals.

The bowl is part of the park district’s Junior Bear Football program, which has two divisions, a Pee Wee division for eight to 10 year-olds, and a Varsity division for 11 to 13 year-olds.

Coaches from both teams, Lindblom’s Antoine Livingston and Fosco’s Obi Allmon are Englewood natives and longtime Junior Bear staff.

One Junior Bear will be honored with the Walter Payton Award, bestowed to an athlete who displays good sportsmanship and community leadership skills.

The Mum Ceremony — where athletes present family members with mum corsages — will begin at 6:30 p.m., with game kickoff following immediately after at 7 p.m.

Attendance and parking (located in the Waldron garage) are free.
