CHICAGO — A group of robbers targeted women in Lincoln Park four times last week.
Two to three teens went up to the women — who were alone — while they walked outside on the sidewalk and then grabbed their phones or purses, according to a Chicago Police community alert. One robber threatened to shoot a woman during one of the incidents, but she didn’t see a gun.
The robberies occurred:
- 5:30 p.m. Oct. 22 in the 2300 block of North Janssen Avenue
- 5:45 p.m. Oct. 22 in the 2000 block of North Sheffield Avenue
- 12:45 p.m. Oct. 26 in the 1700 block of North Sheffield Avenue
- 1:45 p.m. Oct. 26 in the 900 block of West Concord Place
The robbers were described as two to three teen boys who were 14-19 years old and 5-foot-6 to 6-foot-2, police said.
