UPTOWN — The Aragon Ballroom will be converted into a casino — for one night only — to benefit the local chamber and Uptown’s community economic development organization.

Casino Uptown will be held from 5:30-9:30 p.m. Nov. 7 at the historic ballroom at 1106 W. Lawrence Ave. It’s a fundraiser for The Chamber Uptown and Uptown United.

Guests can play poker, blackjack, roulette and craps. You can’t win cash, but prizes are available.

For those not interested in gambling, the event will also have food and drinks, dancing and live jazz music from the Lakeside Pride Jazz Orchestra.

History lovers and architecture buffs can also take a docent-led behind-the-scenes tour of the Aragon Ballroom — which has stood for nearly 100 years.

There is free parking at the event at the adjacent parking lot. It’s a joint fundraiser for Uptown United and The Chamber for Uptown. Donations are tax deductible.

Tickets are $55 in advance or $65 at the door and they can be purchased here.
