WEST LOOP — Pizza lovers looking to score cheesy pies for life will have their chance Tuesday in the West Loop.
Nancy’s Pizza is celebrating its newest pizza parlor at 1000 W. Washington Blvd. with delicious prizes. During the grand opening, the pie shop known for its stuffed pizza will be offering 48 dine-in customers free pizza for a year and one very lucky customer will win free pizza for life.
To win, dine-in customers must fill out a Nancy’s contest card in the restaurant, snap a “creative pizza photo” and post it to Instagram or Facebook using hashtags #nancyspizza #westloop and #getstuffed.
Winners will be announced by the end of the day Wednesday, said Laurie Cairns, Nancy’s Pizza spokeswoman.
The new location pays homage to its roots and its creators, Rocco Palese and Annunziata “Nancy” Palese, owners said.
In 1969, the pair and their three children immigrated to Chicago from Italy. They opened their first pizza shop, Guy’s Pizza, in 1971. The shop was known for its thin-crust pizza and it is where Rocco Palese experimented and created stuffed pizza, according to the company website.
Two years later, Rocco Palese opened Nancy’s — named for his wife — in Harwood Heights on the city’s Northwest Side, serving up stuffed pizza. The pizza franchise has since grown to more than 30 locations, according to Eater.
Nancy’s Pizza in the West Loop is open 11 a.m.-11 p.m. Monday through Thursday, 11 a.m.-midnight Friday and Saturday and 11 a.m.-10 p.m. Sunday.
