CHICAGO — A man tried to kidnap a woman Sunday night in South Chicago, police said.

At 9:15 p.m., the woman was in the 9100 block of South Baltimore Avenue when a man got out of a car, took out a knife and came up to her, according to a Chicago Police community alert.

“B—, get in the car!” the man told the woman.

The man grabbed the woman by her hair and tried to pull her into his car, police said. The woman kicked the man in his groin and ran off.

The man chased after the woman, who called 911 for help, police said. A passerby helped the woman and the man drove off, going east on 91st Street.

The attacker was a man who wore a blue hooded sweatshirt and dark-colored jeans, police said. He was last seen in a white SUV. No detailed description was immediately available.

Anyone with information about the attempted kidnapping was asked to call police at 312-747-8271.
