EDGEWATER — Although Edgewater is technically one of Chicago’s newest neighborhoods after splitting from Uptown in 1980, the neighborhood is full of rich history — with dozens of historical landmarks and architecturally significant buildings.
This year’s Open House Chicago, presented by the Chicago Architecture Center Saturday and Sunday Oct. 19-20, features 15 prominent buildings located in Edgewater and Andersonville.

Open House Chicago 2019 will offer “behind-the-scenes access” to nearly 350 sites in neighborhoods across Chicago. The sites range from repurposed mansions and historic churches to modern offices and skyscrapers. The tours are all free.
