13-Story Office Building Planned On South End Of West Loop Gets Key City Approval

DOWNTOWN — Crayton Advisors is one step closer to expanding their collection of office buildings in West Loop after garnering key city approval for a new 13-story office building at the south end of the West Loop.

On Tuesday, the Committee on Zoning unanimously approved plans for a 13-story office building at 308 S. Green St. The FitzGerald Associates Architects-designed building would include an office lobby, ground floor retail and 105 parking spaces.

Crayton Advisors submitted a zoning application last month to convert the surface parking lot into an office building.

The developer unveiled plans for the 149-foot-high building at a community meeting in July. 

The proposal previously looked to bring a 12-story building with three levels of parking to accommodate 101 parking spaces. 

During the community meeting, one resident worried that the additional cars brought by new office tenants would add to the congestion along Jackson Boulevard.

Crayton Advisors also operates nearby office buildings at 820 W. Jackson Blvd., 833 W. Jackson Blvd., 850 W. Jackson Blvd. and 322 S. Green St.

If approved by City Council, construction on the project could start in March 2020 and would last about 10-12 months.
