Get Your Pet Blessed And Snag A Free Pet Portrait Sunday In The South Loop

Two churches are giving out blessings to dogs, cats and other pets and are then hosting a Pet Fair.

CHICAGO — You can get your pet blessed and snag a free pet portrait at a Sunday event in the South Loop.

Grace Place and Holy Trinity Lutheran Churches are hosting their annual Blessing of the Animals at Printers Row Park. Anyone can bring a pet to have him or her blessed by religious leaders.

After the blessings, the churches will host a Pet Fair and Coffee Hour with pet-focused businesses and groups, including a dog trainer, a representative from a doggy daycare and volunteers from a rescue. A photographer will snap free portraits of pets with their owners.

There will be coffee and treats for humans and pets.

The blessings start at 10 a.m. Sunday at Prints Row Park across the street from Grace Place, 637 S. Dearborn St. The Pet Fair is 11 a.m.-12:30 p.m. at
