CHICAGO — A “Beetlejuice”-themed pop-up will take visitors on scavenger hunts and more when it opens later this month.
House of Beetle will be a Halloween pop-up bar inspired by “Beetlejuice,” the hit 1988 Tim Burton film. It’s set to open Oct. 17 at the Bassline in the South Loop.
The pop-up will be interactive, with organizers setting up scavenger hunts, live entertainment and cosplay events for visitors. There will also be decorations and themed cocktails.
All of the bar will be themed around “Beetlejuice.” The movie stars Michael Keaton as the titular character, a poltergeist who terrorizes a newly deceased couple and the family who has moved into their home.
The pop-up will be open Oct. 17-Nov. 1 at the Bassline, 2239 S. Michigan Ave. Its hours will be 4 p.m.-midnight Monday-Wednesday, 4 p.m.-1 a.m. Thursday-Friday, 2 p.m.-2 a.m. Saturday and 2 p.m.-midnight Sunday.
General admission tickets are available online for $35. Visitors must be 21 or older.
