SOUTH LOOP — Molly’s Cupcakes is bringing its unique Cookie Monster, Peach Cobbler and Cake Batter cupcakes to the South Loop.

Molly’s will celebrate the grand opening of its new location Oct. 4 at 1150 S. Wabash Ave. Guests will be able to enter contests from 8 a.m. to 10 p.m. and get mini cupcakes and La Colombe coffee for free until 2 p.m., according to a Molly’s news release.

The chain — which started in Lincoln Park but has locations in River East, the West Loop and now South Loop — is known for having filled cupcakes and for having a specialty cupcake that changes each month. October will feature the pumpkin spice cupcake with pumpkin filling.

Customers will also able to create their own cupcakes, choosing what cake flavor, frosting and sprinkles to apply (there’s even a “sprinkle bar”), according to Molly’s.

Molly’s also serves pies, cookies, brownies and other sweet treats, all baked fresh daily.

The South Loop location will seat 34 people and, come spring, there will be a dog-friendly patio.

The bakery will be open 9 a.m.-10 p.m. Monday, 8 a.m.-10 p.m. Tuesday-Thursday, 8 a.m.-midnight Friday and Saturday and 10 a.m.-9 p.m. Sunday.
