ALBANY PARK — The Mosaic Albany Park Arts Festival returns this weekend to celebrate the neighborhood’s art scene.
The festival kicks off with a party at 6:30 p.m. Thursday at Twisted Hippo Brewery, 2925 W. Montrose Ave.
The free event will feature food and drinks, live music from Sonorama and Bumpus, a gallery show by We Are Lions and a video performance by Range Mobile Lab.

After the kickoff party, the festival will feature a weekend of music, art and interactive events and tours taking place across Albany Park.
Highlights include an 8 p.m. Friday performance of “The Recommendation” at Windy City Playhouse, a psychological thriller presented in an immersive style limited to 34 audience members per performance.
At 10 a.m. Saturday, the Chicago Park District and North River Commission will celebrate the repurposing of the River Park Boathouse as a community facility for canoe and kayak rentals, guided paddle tours, ecology programs and more.
From 1-5 p.m. Saturday, Twisted Hippo will host Welcome to the Jungle, a homebrew competition and festival. Attendees can sample entries from 15 Chicagoland homebrewers and vote for their favorite beer. Winners of the homebrew competition will have their recipe produced in the Twisted Hippo Brewery.
