LAKEVIEW — Chicago Police shut down the major Clark and Diversey intersection on the Lakeview and Lincoln Park border to investigate a report of a “suspicious object” Tuesday night.
At 8 p.m., police closed off stretches of North Clark Street and West Diversey Pkwy. to investigate the object, said Officer Steve Rusanov, a police spokesman. An initial report made to police said that a pressure cooker was found on the sidewalk.
A cylinder-shaped object was spotted in front of Stan’s Donuts, 2800 N. Clark St.
Police cordoned off the area and police squad SUVs surrounded the intersection.
The surrounding streets and sidewalks reopened at 10 p.m. after the police bomb squad cleared the area, according to Officer Ana Pacheco, a police spokeswoman.
