CHICAGO — Police are looking for a driver who they said crashed into a bicyclist, killing him, and then drove off Sunday in Garfield Park.

At 3 a.m., the driver was going west in the 4500 block of West Lake Street when he or she hit the 56-year-old bicyclist, police said. The driver kept going.

The bicyclist was identified as Richard Williams, of the 6800 block of North Main Avenue, in Cook County Medical Examiner’s Office records. Williams was pronounced dead at 3:29 a.m.

The driver’s car, a black 2007 Chevrolet Trailblazer, might have damage to its bumper, a headlight and hood, police said.

Anyone with information about the hit-and-run was asked to call police at 312-745-4521.
