CHICAGO — More than 50 very, very small dogs will race in the Tiny Dog 500 for charity.

The tiny dogs will take to the track and try to win for bragging rights — and to help One Tail at a Time, the animal shelter hosting the event. The money raised during the Sept. 8 event will be used to rescue and rehome dogs and cats.

Participating pooches must weigh 1-20 pounds and will be split it into three division depending on their weight. They must be friendly with other dogs and humans, have up-to-date shots and be neutered or spayed.

Tickets to watch are $30 each, while tickets to watch and have a dog compete are $45 each. That includes admission, snacks and drinks.

The race is 2-5 .m. Sept. 8 at Bridge 410’s backyard, 410 N. Paulina St.
