LOGAN SQUARE — Longman & Eagle’s end-of-summer block party is back after a two-year hiatus.
The 2019 block party/swap meet is set for 1-9 p.m. Sunday and will be held next to the restaurant at 2657 N. Kedzie Ave.
There will be tons of meat-free grub courtesy of Longman & Eagle’s executive chef Max Robbins. Expect country fair favorites like loaded BBQ nachos, street corn-off-the-cob, spicy corndogs and chili dogs made with Beyond Meat, a plant-based meat substitute.
Miko’s Italian Ice will be slinging frozen treats and Revolution Brewing will provide the beer.
Local vendors and artists like Ace High Vintage, Humboldt House and Louie Capozzoli will be selling their wares. Oh, and there will be a mechanical bull.
Throughout the day, Longman & Eagle will be accepting donations for Christopher House, a collection of schools that help low-income, at-risk families.
A portion of food and drink sales will also be donated to Christopher House.
