PORTAGE PARK — Tone Deaf Records will have live music and more at its official grand opening party Saturday, Aug. 31.
Owner Tony Assimos decided to take the plunge and open a shop of his own at 4356 N. Milwaukee Ave. in Portage Park after he was priced out of Logan Square and when Portage Park’s longtime record shop, Raffe’s, shuttered.
His shop opened in June but the free party at noon Saturday will serve as the grand opening.
Here is the lineup of artists performing:
• 2 p.m.: Jon Langford
• 3:15 p.m.: The Siderunners
• 4:30 p.m.: Jessica Risker
DJs The Dirty Hunch, John Bunnheddy, Golden Wilson, Hub and many others are slated to perform.
“We look forward to seeing everyone and meeting any new folks who haven’t made it into the shop yet,” Assimos said.
