DOWNTOWN — Illinois residents will be able to visit the Shedd Aquarium for free 12 days this September.
The aquarium will offer free general admission on Mondays, Tuesdays and Wednesday starting after Labor Day. It will also extended its hours for some of those days.
Those who wish to use the offer must bring an ID or proof of residence.
The free days:
- Sept. 3: 9 a.m.-9 p.m.
- Sept. 4: 9 a.m.-5 p.m.
- Sept. 9: 9 a.m.-9 p.m.
- Sept. 10: 9 a.m.-9 p.m.
- Sept. 11: 9 a.m.-5 p.m.
- Sept. 16: 9 a.m.-9 p.m.
- Sept. 17: 9 a.m.-9 p.m.
- Sept. 18: 9 a.m.-5 p.m.
- Sept. 23: 9 a.m.-5 p.m.
- Sept. 24: 9 a.m.-9 p.m.
- Sept. 25: 9 a.m.-4 p.m.
- Sept. 30: 9 a.m.-9 p.m.
The Shedd recommended attendees buy tickets online for free days. Buying tickets online does cost a $3 transaction fee.
