CHICAGO — Drones will be filming over the Near North Side on Monday.
Drone cameras will take to the skies over Streeterville noon-6 p.m. to capture video of the Lake Michigan shoreline, according to an emailed announcement from Ald. Brian Hopkins (2nd). They’re being run by a contractor for the Chicago Park Distract.
The video is part of a Park District project “to develop a shoreline study” for the city’s lakefront, according to Hopkins’ email. He said recording the footage would be a “critical first step in evaluating erosion caused by this year’s high lake levels.”
The video shouldn’t interfere with anyone’s life, Hopkins said.
