WICKER PARK — Neighborhood leaders want to help you better understand Tax Increment Financing (TIF) districts, and they’ve hired Tom Tresser, co-founder of the CivicLab and leader of the TIF Illumination Project, to do the job.
From 7-10 p.m. on Sept. 10, the Wicker Park Committee will host Tresser at the Den Theatre, 1331 N. Milwaukee Ave. The event costs $25, but early bird tickets are currently on sale through Tuesday for $20. Register online.
TIF districts are used by municipalities to incentivize development. Earlier this year, City Council approved $1.6 billion in TIF subsidies for the Lincoln Yards and The 78 developments.
