PULLMAN — Celebrating 100 days in its new South Side digs, Blue Cross Blue Shield’s Blue Door Neighborhood Center is rolling out the welcome mat and breaking out the sidewalk chalk Saturday for its first block party in the 111th Street Gateway Retail Center.
Part of Blue Cross Blue Shield’s mission is to make health care more accessible in marginalized neighborhoods. The Blue Door Neighborhood Center opened its doors in April at 756 E. 111th St., offering free wellness classes and community resources.
Attendees can enjoy free grub while checking out a performance from the Jesse White Tumblers, participate in yoga and Zumba demonstrations and stop by the BCBS Care Van for back-to-school immunizations. Radio station WGCI will be on hand to provide music.
There will also be facepainting and balloon artists for the kids.
Secretary of State Jesse White is among those scheduled to attend.
Festivities are 11 a.m.- 3 p.m.
