AVONDALE — A pet fair Saturday at Federico Garcia Lorca Elementary School in Avondale will offer a low-cost vaccine clinic, discounted dog registration and pet microchipping.
The pet fair runs from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday in the school’s parking lot at 3231 N. Springfield Ave.
Free microchipping will be provided to the first 20 pets.
The pet fair is cash only, so bring exact change to take advantage of the following services:
• $7 for DA2PPL (distemper for dogs)
• $15 for rabies vaccinations
• $15 microchipping
• $5 dog registration (sterilized dog)
• $50 dog registration (unsterilized dog)
All dogs older than four months must have a rabies vaccination and a dog license in Chicago.
All dogs must be on a leash or in a carrier while all cats must be in a carrier. Pets requiring muzzles must have them on at the event. Pet owners must also be able to handle their pet around other animals.
Saturday’s pet fair is being organized by State Rep. Jaime Andrade Jr. and Ald. Ariel Reboyras (30th).
“Our pets are like family, so it’s important that they get the medical care they need,” Andrade said.
