Students and community members will rehearse and perform alongside the Chicago Philharmonic under the direction of Scott Speck, the orchestra’s principal conductor.

The rehearsal and performance will feature musical selections from composers William Grant Still, Frédéric Chopin, Pyotr Ilyich Tchaikovsky and the traditional Chinese piece Dance of the Golden Snake.

The concert is the third stop of the orchestra’s Side By Side community performances throughout the summer. The series is presented in partnership with the Park District’s Night Out in the Park program that brings cultural events and performances to neighborhood parks around the city.
