UPTOWN — Police responded to Courtenay Elementary School in Uptown Wednesday afternoon after someone reported a person with a gun in the vicinity, police said.
At about noon, dozens of officers surrounded the school at 4420 N. Beacon St., with some searching nearby bushes and others interviewing students.
No gun was recovered and no arrests were made, according to police.
Police responded to the scene after a call came in from a citizen who said they saw someone carrying a gun near the school, police said.
No shots were fired, police said.
