WICKER PARK — A new four-story, 14-unit building may be headed to Wicker Park if the City Council approves a zoning change for “1510 Haddon Apartments.”

An ordinance for the change was introduced at City Council on Wednesday.

The proposed 11,026-square-foot development would be located at 1162 N. Milwaukee Ave., at the corner of Haddon and Milwaukee avenues.

Renderings of the project include a ground floor with commercial units. Plans do not include on-site parking.

According to city documents, the project’s applicant, WPA 13, LLC, will seek to avoid the typical on-site parking requirement by filing as a Transit Oriented Development, which lets developers slash parking spaces if a project is close enough to public transit.

According to DNAinfo, the property owner, Mark Sutherland, is also the developer behind neighboring Wicker Park Lofts, 1515 W. Haddon Ave.

City Council meets again in September.
