EAST GARFIELD PARK — Art West will bring together some of their favorite DJs and most talented artists in an effort to highlight the West Side’s art scene this weekend.
The Art, Beats and Vibes day party kicks off 3 p.m. Sunday as guests are invited to take in the art the 345 Art Gallery, 345 N. Kedzie Ave., while also enjoying the summertime on the gallery’s patio.
Beats will be provided by legendary house DJ Mike Dunn. Dunn is a member of the Chosen Few DJs, a collective of the first wave of music producers in Chicago who developed the sound that became house music.
Credit: Provided West Side artists are welcome to drop in to show their skills in an art battle. Artists can also compete in a live painting contest where the crowd will decide which artist can create the best composition in a limited amount of time.
Food and drinks will also be provided at the event. Street parking is available at 345 Art Gallery.
