CHICAGO — A man and a woman were attacked by two people Sunday night in Uptown.

At 6:28 p.m., a 22-year-old woman and a 24-year-old man were in the entryway of a home in the 4500 block of North Sheridan Road when two people, a 19-year-old woman and 20-year-old man, beat them, police said.

The 24-year-old man had multiple contusions on his head and was taken to St. Francis Hospital in critical condition. The 22-year-old woman had multiple contusions on her head and face and a hematoma in the back of her head. She was taken to St. Francis Hospital, where her condition was not available but she was listed as “stable,” police said.

The 19-year-old woman was cut multiple times in her chest and right hand and was taken to Illinois Masonic Hospital and the 20-year-old man had minor scrapes and was taken to Swedish Covenant Hospital. Their conditions were not available but they were listed as “stable,” police said.

Two people were being questioned by investigators, police said.
