AVONDALE — Record Breakers, a record shop on Avondale’s Milwaukee Avenue, is offering steep discounts at its first-ever garage sale.
The sale is set for 11 a.m.-9 p.m. Friday, Saturday and Sunday in the back room of the shop at 2935 N. Milwaukee Ave.
Folks can expect to sift through thousands of LPs, 45s and CDs, ranging from ’70s rock and ’80s R&B to 12″ disco singles, according to co-owner Colin Brennan.
“A LOT of classical LPs. CDs are all over the place. Metal, Indie, Punk, Rock, Pop,” Brennan said in an email.
Brennan said they’re all “items [they’ve] been holding onto but haven’t had the room in the store to put on display.”
LPs will go for $1 each, while 45s and CDs will go for 25 cents each.
There will also be DVDs, books and posters for sale.
Record Breakers opened in Avondale in 2017.
Prior to 2017, the shop was located above the South Loop rock club Reggies. The owner of Reggies gifted the shop to employees Brennan and Eric Kratz. The two later moved the shop to Avondale in hopes of broadening their customer base.
