DOWNTOWN — More than a dozen local drag queens and kings will perform in a Loop alley later this month.
The performances are part of ACTIVATE, a popup event series organized by the Chicago Loop Alliance. The drag performers will take over the alley behind a South Wabash block while attendees can get theatrical makeup applied, listen to music from House and techno DJs, view inflatable sculptures and more.
Famous local drag performers Aunty Chan, Lucy Stoole and Bambi Banks Coulee will be among the performers.
Attendance is free and open to everyone.
The event is 5-10 p.m. July 18 in the Symphony Center alley at 225 S. Wabash Ave. Attendees can RSVP to get a free drink ticket.
More ACTIVATE events will be held Aug. 22 and Sept. 26.
