CHICAGO — A man tried to lure a 13-year-old girl to his car Tuesday in Dunning.

At 4 p.m., the girl was walking to a park when a man in a car stopped near her as they were at Roscoe and Osage avenues, according to a Chicago Police community alert. The man waved at the girl and said, “Hi.”

The girl continued walking to the park and the man drove up to her in the 3400 block of North Osage Avenue and asked if she wanted to get a drink, police said. The man also offered the girl a ride, but she said no and continued walking.

The girl ignored more requests from the man, went home and told her parents what had happened, police said.

The man was older and had many facial wrinkles, dark-colored hair and brown eyes, police said. He didn’t have facial hair or glasses. He was wearing a gray shirt and navy blue baseball cap.

Anyone with information about the incident was asked to call police at 312-744-8266.
