WEST LOOP — Green and Pink Line riders should expect delays this weekend while crews make upgrades to elevated tracks in the West Loop, the CTA warned.
Starting at 11 p.m. Friday, the Chicago Transit Authority will close the Morgan Station to complete work to reduce slow zones on the Green and Pink lines between Halsted Street and Ogden Avenue.
During the closure, the CTA will offer free shuttle service to riders from the Clinton Station to the Ashland Station. The CTA is urging riders to allow for extra travel time.
Lake Street will also close from Halsted to Ogden while crews complete work. And Ada and May are closed for crew staging, the CTA said.
Morgan Station will reopen at 4 a.m. Monday morning, officials said.
The upgrades are part of the agencies’ FastTracks Improvement Program aimed at modernizing rail and bus service.
