Shooting On CTA Bus Wounds 3 People In Chatham

CHICAGO — Three people were wounded during a shooting on a CTA bus Monday in Chatham.

At 6:17 p.m., a man got off a bus in the 7600 block of South State Street and then fired shots at the bus, police said. An 18-year-old man was hit in his chest, arm and stomach and an 18-year-old woman was hit in her underarm.

The two were taken to University of Chicago Medical Center, where their conditions were not available but they were listed as “stable,” police said.

A 59-year-old man had a bullet graze his left side and he took himself to St. Bernard Hospital. His condition was not immediately available.

One person of interest was being questioned, police said. An investigation was ongoing.
