CHICAGO — WNBA All-Star and four-time Olympic gold medalist Tamika Catchings will lead a two-hour, co-ed youth basketball clinic this Saturday at Josephinum Academy of the Sacred Heart’s Jo Jamboree!
Jo Jamboree! is a family-oriented, free indoor and outdoor festival in support of health and wellness. It will take place from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday at Josephinum Academy, 1501 N. Oakley Blvd.
All-day activities include a bouncy house, face painting, an obstacle course and outdoor toys for children ages 2-12, as well as health screenings and children’s physicals, according to a schedule of events. Other features include bike repairs and tune-ups and a sushi rolling class with EJ Sushi. For the bike clinic, fill out this form ahead of time, and bring a lock.
Event-goers should bring a refillable water bottle, a towel if participating in sports clinics or fitness classes and a picnic blanket to eat or relax on in the grass, according to the event FAQ page. You should not bring cleats, alcoholic beverages or pets.
The basketball clinic with Catchings starts at 10 a.m. The clinic is full, but you can continue to register here and be placed on a waiting list.
