ENGLEWOOD — The Resident Association of Greater Englewood (R.A.G.E.) is looking for new talent for its So Fresh Saturday Tour this summer.
Part of the Chicago Park District’s Night Out in the Parks series, the event is described as a “fun, family-focused, community-driven, edutainment” festival series that tours several parks throughout Englewood.
Night Out at the Park brings more than 2,000 events to the city’s parks, with 1,200 of them—including So Fresh Saturdays— taking place during the summer.
Now in its seventh year, So Fresh Saturdays features artists from all over the city while connecting Englewood residents with vital resources, offering educational workshops focused on youth, entrepreneurship, hip hop, media, social networks, community activism and culturally relevant history via music, film and art.
The festival kicks off 2-6 p.m. June 15 at Morgan Park, 5727 S. Racine Ave., and runs until October.
Local artists, dance groups, choirs, and poets who can perform “without glorifying sex, drugs, or violence” are encouraged to fill out this form and send a demo or link of their music to SoFreshArtists@gmail.com. For more information, call 866-845-1032.
