CHICAGO — A 42-year-old man was shot early Friday while breaking into an Uptown home, police said.
At 12:08 a.m., the man forced his way into a home in the 800 block of West Lake Side Place by going through a sliding door in the back, police said. The homeowner, a 39-year-old man with a valid FOID card, confronted the man and shot at him.
The 42-year-old was hit in his buttocks and he was taken to Illinois Masonic Hospital, where his condition was not available but he was listed as “stable,” police said.
The 39-year-old was not hurt and no one else was inside the home.
Charges were pending and an investigation was ongoing.
