CHICAGO — Half Acre Beer Co. is opening its expanded beer garden at its Balmoral Avenue location just in time for Memorial Day weekend.
The brewery’s revamped beer garden will now seat 120 guests and have an outdoor bar and event area. The garden opens Friday at the Balmoral taproom, 2050 W. Balmoral Ave. in the Bowmanville neighborhood.
The garden will feature a patio and bocce court circled by trees, plants and a custom mural. Customers will be able to buy out part of the garden, including the bocce court, for events with up to 40 people.
The outdoor bar will be full-service and have 12 taps with a variety of beer, as well as cans of Daisy Cutter Pale Ale and Pony Pilsner. Customers will also be able to get food, including summer dishes like Asian peanut noodles with scallions, carrots, cilantro cabbage and peanuts.
Half Acre is also looking to pair up with the American Bocce Co. so it can start a bocce league later in the season.
The Balmoral taproom is open 4-10 p.m. Tuesday-Thursday, 11 a.m.-midnight Friday-Saturday and 10 a.m.-10 p.m. Sunday at 2050 W. Balmoral Ave.
