CHICAGO — A woman and man were shot Monday night in Humboldt Park, police said.

At 8:51 p.m., the woman, 29, was walking into a building in the 1200 block of North Avers Avenue at the same time as the man, 26, was walking out of the building, police said.

Someone standing in an alley fired shots, hitting the man and woman.

The woman was hit in her right leg and taken to St. Mary Hospital, where her condition was not available but she was listed as “stable,” police said. The man was hit in his lower back and he was in critical condition at Stroger Hospital.

No one was in custody and an investigation was ongoing.
