CHICAGO — A man was in custody after police said his speeding Maserati crashed into a taxi and then he got out and beat another man who argued with him on the scene Monday in the South Loop.
At 7:35 p.m., the 26-year-old was driving a Maserati “at a high rate of speed” in the 1500 block of South Michigan Avenue when he hit a taxi cab, police said.
The driver then started arguing with a bystander and beat the bystander, police said. That man was taken to Mercy Hospital with non-life-threatening injuries. His condition was not available but he was listed as “stable,” police said.
No one was injured from the crash.
The 26-year-old was taken into custody and charges were pending, police said.
