CHICAGO — Two cars were stolen from Near West Side gas stations in recent weeks, police said.

The victims parked their cars at the gas stations and someone got in and drove off, according to a Chicago Police community alert.

The thefts occurred:

  • 5:29 p.m. April 27 in the 1100 block of West Van Buren Street
  • 4:45-5 p.m. April 30 in the 1600 block of West Van Buren Street

No detailed description of the thief or thieves was available.

Police advised drivers to not leave their keys in their cars.

Anyone with information about the thefts was asked to call police at 312-747-8380.
