CHICAGO — West Town and surrounding neighborhoods have been hit by a series of car burglaries in recent weeks, police warned.
In one series, a burglar or burglars targeted cars with bags visible in them parked in the 1300 block of West Randolph Street, according to a Chicago Police community alert. The burglar broke the windows of at least two cars and stole items from inside.
Those burglaries happened 9:30-11 p.m. April 30.
During another series, a burglar broke the windows of at least three parked cars with bags in them and stole items out of the cars, according to a Chicago Police community alert.
Those burglaries occurred:
- 3 p.m. May 1 in the 600 block of West Hubbard Street
- 7:45-9:30 p.m. Thursday in the 700 block of West Hubbard Street
- 8:19 p.m. Friday in the 400 block of North Union Avenue
There was no description of the burglar or burglars, but anyone with information was asked to call police at 312-747-8380.
