PILSEN — The team behind Pilsen Fest is celebrating Cinco de Mayo with its annual pub crawl to raise money for their popular summer music festival.
The 6th Annual Pilsen Cantina Crawl kicks off Saturday and will guide strollers or trolley riders to some of the neighborhood’s bars and restaurants from noon to 6 p.m.
Hand-crafted cocktails, food specials and live music will be available during the 13-venue crawl. Participants will also get to vote on the bar or restaurant to be crowned Mezcal King.
Caminos de Michoacán, Harbee Liquors & Tavern, Honky Tonk BBQ, La Luna, La Pulquería, La Vaca Margarita Bar, Monnie Burke’s, Simone’s, The Barrel, and La Mejikana are among participating restaurants and bars.
The pub crawl starts at La Pulquería at 2501 S. Western Ave.
“Cantina Crawl is yet another example of how this colorful Pilsen community unites for the greater cause, and has fun doing so!” Pilsen Fest Director Esmirna García said in a statement. “The money we raise here goes to enhancing Pilsen Fest and our ‘one village, one sound’ message.”
Tickets for the 21-and-over event are on sale now.
Proceeds of the crawl, sponsored by Banhez Mezcal, will go toward the Pilsen Fest summer music festival.
