CHICAGO — Police are looking for a man and woman who tried to kidnap an 11-year-old boy Monday in Morgan Park, police said.
At 7:42 p.m. Monday, the boy was in an alley in the 11100 block of South Campbell Avenue when a man, who was trailed by a woman in a car, walked up to him, according to a Chicago Police community alert.
The man told the boy, “I will give you a couple of dollars if you go to that red car, get my wife out and tell her to come here,” police said.
The boy ran away and the man continued to walk south down the alley while the woman followed him in the car, police said.
The man was white, 55-65 years old, 5-foot-9 to 6 feet tall and wrinkled, police said. He had a scruffy black and gray beard and wore a gray hat, a black hooded sweatshirt and blue jeans. He smelled strongly of cigarettes.
The person in the car was a white woman, police said. She drove a small, red SUV with a metallic grill. The car was possibly a Ford Escape.
Anyone with information about the incident was asked to call police at 312-747-8271.
