We’re So Sorry But Snow Could Hit Chicago This Saturday

Rain and cold temperatures are hitting — and just when it seemed like Chicago might actually be embracing spring.

Sorry, spring: Snow could hit the city this weekend.
  • Credibility:

DOWNTOWN — Yes, it’s almost May. And yes, we may get snow this weekend — at least on the North Side.

The snow is expected on Saturday, when the National Weather Service is predicting the city will only get as warm as 43 degrees in the morning before falling to 39 degrees the rest of the day.

Rain is expected to start about 2 p.m. and last throughout the afternoon, and that could mix with snow starting about 10 p.m., according to the National Weather Service. Less than a half-inch of snow is expected, and gusty winds could get as high as 45 mph overnight.

The rain and snow will “gradually” end and Sunday is expected to be sunny with a high temperature of 48 degrees, according to the National Weather Service.

The city warms up again next week, with temperatures expected to hang around the 50s and 60s.
