‘John Wick’ Double Feature Will Give Moviegoers A Chance To Hang Out With Puppies, Learn About Adopting Them

A portion of the ticket sales from the event will also be donated to a Chicago dog shelter.

John Wick (played by Keanu Reeves) plays with Daisy, his puppy.

CHICAGO — Nobody likes the “John Wick” scene where his adorable beagle puppy, Daisy, gets … well, y’know.

But Thalia Hall hopes to counteract that scene by offering moviegoers a chance to hang out with dogs before and during a double feature showing of “John Wick” and its sequel on May 13. The “John Wick” films — including an upcoming third movie — focus on the titular character (played by Keanu Reeves), an assassin who seeks revenge after his puppy is slain.

The theater is teaming up with One Tail at a Time, a Chicago-based animal rescue, to bring adoptable dogs to meet with moviegoers during the double feature. Attendees will be able to learn about the dogs and how they can adopt or foster pets from One Tail at a Time before the movies and during an intermission.

A portion of the ticket sales from the event will be donated to the shelter.

The double showing starts 6 p.m. May 13 at Thalia Hall, 1807 S. Allport St. General admission is $8, but seating on a luxury inflatable sofa with a popcorn voucher is $32. Tickets are available online.
