THE LOOP — A group of boys or men tried to steal from a Loop convenience store and then hit an employee with their skateboards early Thursday, police said.
At 1:55 a.m., three people walked into a convenience store in the first block of East Madison Street and two of them started putting food into their pants, police said.
The store clerk confronted them and they hit him with their skateboards, police said.
The clerk had a minor head injury and was taken to Northwestern Hospital, where his condition was not available but he was listed as “stable,” police said.
Two of the three boys or men were taken into custody, police said. Their ages were not immediately available.
An investigation was ongoing.
