PILSEN — A 27-year-old woman was critically wounded after being shot in the chest early Sunday morning in Pilsen, police said.
Around 4:25 a.m. Sunday, a man and a woman were driving in the 2100 block of West 18th Place when a blue SUV with three men approached and opened fire, police said.
The man kept driving before realizing the passenger had been shot in her chest. The 28-year-old man drove to 16th and Laflin streets where police were summoned, police said.
The woman was taken to Stroger Hospital in critical condition.
No one is in custody and Area Central Detectives are investigating.
