DOWNTOWN — A man snatched cellphones from people Downtown four times in less than a day last week, police said.
The man targeted people walking with their phones, grabbing them from the victims’ hands or taking them from the victims’ pockets and open purses, according to a Chicago Police community alert.
The thefts occurred:
- 4:10 p.m. Thursday in the first block of South Wabash Avenue
- 8 p.m. Thursday in the 300 block of South Dearborn Street
- 10:50 a.m. Friday in the first block of South Wabash Avenue
- 11:50 a.m. Friday in the first block of East Madison Street
The thief was described as a man who was 20 years old, 6 feet tall and a wore a hooded sweatshirt, police said.
