CHICAGO — A 32-year-old man was hospitalized after getting into a fight at the early Tuesday at the Grand Red Line Station, police said.

At 1:21 a.m., the man flagged down officers in the 500 block of North State Street and told them he’d been beaten by two men, police said. He had a laceration on top of his head.

The man told officers he’d been at the train station and going up an escalator when he got into an argument with two men. After getting off the escalator, the three men began fighting, police said.

The officers found the two other men involved and, after talking to witnesses and investigating more, learned the three men had been “mutual combatants,” police said.

The 32-year-old was taken to Northwestern Hospital, where his condition was not available but he was listed as “stable,” police said. No other injuries were reported.

No charges were filed.
