CHICAGO — Six people were shot, including two children, in Englewood Saturday night, police said.

Shots were fired into a group of people on the sidewalk in the 6300 block of South Seeley Avenue about 6:20 p.m., according to police. A 10-year-old girl was shot in her shin and an 8-year-old boy was hit in his chest and back. Both children were taken to Comer Children’s Hospital in “stable” condition, police said.

A 29-year-old woman was shot in her shoulder and chest and taken to Christ Hospital in critical condition, a 42-year-old man was also taken to Christ Hospital with gunshot wounds to his hip. He was described as being “stable.” A 23-year-old man was taken to Holy Cross Hospital with a gunshot wound to his left foot, a 28-year-old man was taken to Holy Cross, then to Mount Sinai after being shot in the right shoulder. Both were “stable,” police said.

The Tribune reports that there were about 20 children playing outside at a baby shower when the shots rang out.

No one was in custody.
