Mother Killed And Her 1-Year-Old Son, Husband Wounded In West Pullman Shooting

CHICAGO — A 33-year-old woman was slain and her 1-year-old son and husband were wounded early Monday in West Pullman, police said.

At 12:41 a.m., the woman and her husband, 34, and son were sitting in a parked car in the 11700 block of South Laflin Street when someone in a dark-colored car fired shots at them, police said.

The woman was hit in her abdomen and back and she was pronounced dead at Advocate Christ Medical Center, police said. Her husband was hit multiple times throughout his body and he was taken to University of Chicago Medical Center in critical condition.

The couple’s 1-year-old boy was hit in his knee and he was taken to Comer Children’s Hospital. His condition was not available but he was listed as “stable,” police said.

No one was in custody. An investigation was ongoing.
