WICKER PARK — Have a hankering for a cast iron skillet of Dutch baby pancakes, while overlooking Wicker Park’s busy North, Milwaukee and Damen intersection?
Save the date: Publican Anker — one of a handful of dining concepts from One Off Hospitality — will close its doors at 1576 N. Milwaukee Ave. Anker’s farewell will be in the form of one last brunch service from 10 a.m.-3 p.m. on Sunday.
The restaurant will be replaced by a new dining concept, spokesperson Kirsten Opsahl said. One Off is still hashing out the details, so stay tuned for more on the new restaurant.
At Anker, chef Paul Kahan aimed to create a “neighborhood gastropub” that paid homage to the 20th century saloons and breweries that once called Wicker Park home.
Publican Anker opened in Wicker Park in winter 2016.
In addition to Publican Anker, One Off Hospitality operates 11 other concepts throughout Chicago. In Wicker Park, locals will recognize The Violet Hour, a cocktail lounge, and restaurants Dove’s Luncheonette and Big Star.
